Shivpuri is our mid-length rafting trip: 16–18 km on the Ganga, around 3 hours in total including transfers, at ₹800 per person including taxes. It starts at Shivpuri and finishes at Laxman Jhula or Ram Jhula.

This guide explains what the trip involves and how to book it. Check Shivpuri rafting availability for your date; the exact price depends on demand and season, and we confirm it when you book.

Shivpuri rafting at a glance

  • Route: Shivpuri to Laxman Jhula / Ram Jhula.
  • River distance: 16–18 km (approximate).
  • Total time: around 3 hours, including transfers.
  • Price: ₹800 per person, including taxes. It can be lower or higher depending on demand and season.
  • Included: licensed, qualified guide; life jacket, helmet and paddles; transport, with hotel pickup depending on your location.
  • Extra: photography and video are charged separately (₹2,000–₹3,000 for the whole raft).

Plan your day around three hours

Three hours is the whole outing, transfers included, so it is not a three-hour block on the river. Allow time for your pickup and for changing afterwards, and leave a buffer before any onward travel such as a bus or train. Our day-planning guide shows how to fit the trip into a Rishikesh day.

Because the trip finishes at Laxman Jhula or Ram Jhula, you finish in the part of Rishikesh most visitors stay in, close to cafes, ghats and the bridges.

Who can join

Participants must be between 14 and 60 years old and healthy, with no heart or lung problems. If you are unsure whether the trip suits you or someone in your group, tell the booking team before you pay. Swimming is not required; our non-swimmer guide explains what to expect.

Solo travellers can join shared departures, which need at least 4 guests to run. Groups of at least 4 can book a private raft in advance.

How Shivpuri compares with our other trips

  • Brahmpuri: 9–12 km, about 1–2 hours in total, ₹500 per person. See the Brahmpuri guide.
  • Shivpuri: 16–18 km, around 3 hours in total, ₹800 per person.
  • Marine Drive: 24 km, around 5–6 hours, ₹1,200–₹1,800 per person, advance group booking only. See the Marine Drive guide.

Our route selection guide helps you choose between them using time available, group and experience rather than distance alone.

Before you start on the river

Before rafting starts, a registered, certified guide gives the briefing and safety instructions, and guests fill in a no-claim (consent) form. Life jackets, helmets and paddles are provided and checked for safety. Use the packing guide to prepare; a waterproof bag is enough if you only bring your phone, and drinking water is available.

Booking and cancellation

Send your date, group size and route to the rafting enquiry page. An advance payment confirms your booking. It is non-refundable if you cancel, but if a trip cannot run because of weather we can offer a refund or a transfer to another date.
