The Airport Is the Point

Jolly Grant is 20 km from Rishikesh and 25 km from Dehradun city. Almost everyone flying into Uttarakhand lands there, and almost everyone then pays for a taxi to wherever they're going.

Take a bike from arrivals instead and you're riding from the moment you land. Rishikesh is 30 minutes. Mussoorie is an hour and a half. The hills start immediately.

How an Airport Pickup Works

1. Book on WhatsApp with your flight number, landing time, the bike you want and how many days.
2. Send photos of your licence and ID in advance, so the paperwork is done before you land.
3. We meet you outside arrivals with the bike, helmet, chain lock and papers. Message us if your flight is delayed.
4. Check the bike over with us, pay the rent and the refundable deposit (₹1,000 for the Activa, ₹3,000 for a Royal Enfield) by cash or UPI, and leave one original photo ID with us.
5. Ride out. Rishikesh is about 20 km and 30 minutes via Bhaniyawala; Dehradun city is about 25 km the other way.

What You Need

• A valid driving licence for the vehicle class — gearless covers the Activa; a Royal Enfield needs a full motorcycle licence. Foreign visitors need a passport and an International Driving Permit.
• One original government photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID or passport), held until return.
• A refundable deposit: ₹1,000 for the Activa, ₹3,000 for any Royal Enfield.

Every bike carries a commercial taxi-series plate approved for self-drive across Uttarakhand, so you can ride from Dehradun to Mussoorie, Chakrata, Rishikesh or the Chardham without checkpost trouble.

Rides from Dehradun

Dehradun opens routes Rishikesh doesn't — Mussoorie, Dhanaulti and Chakrata are all closer from here, and the Mussoorie road is one of the best short rides in the state.

• Mussoorie (35 km): up Rajpur Road and into the hairpins — about an hour and a half, cool even in May. Go early on weekends, when the Mall Road traffic backs up. Our Mussoorie ride guide has the detail.
• Dhanaulti (60 km): continue past Mussoorie along the ridge through deodar forest; it makes a full day with Mussoorie, or see our Dhanaulti route.
• Sahastradhara and Robber's Cave: short, easy rides on the edge of the city — good for a first afternoon on the bike.
• Chakrata (90 km): west via Kalsi; quiet, forested and much less visited than Mussoorie. Take a Royal Enfield.
• Rishikesh (45 km): an easy hour and a half, and the start of every Chardham and Chopta route.
