A shared departure and a private arrangement can serve different travel needs. The right option depends on who is joining, what is available and how the operator prices and organises the trip.
Ask about both options when checking rafting with Anubhav Travel. Do not assume a private raft is available for every route or that it removes the operator’s requirements.
In a shared arrangement, your booking may join other confirmed participants. Ask about the proposed reporting time, minimum numbers and what happens if the departure lacks enough people. A solo traveller may find this useful, but availability still needs confirmation.
Clarify whether the quote is per person and whether everyone receives the same inclusions. Our solo traveller guide explains what to ask when joining a group.
For a private booking, ask what exactly is reserved for your group. Is the quote for a raft, a departure, transport or a combination? Confirm permitted group size, any minimum charge and whether a larger group changes the arrangement.
Private does not mean you choose any route, ignore eligibility requirements or override operating decisions. It is an organisational arrangement, not a safety guarantee or exemption from restrictions.
Compare total group charges rather than one headline figure. A per-person shared price and a private-group price use different units. Include taxes and chosen extras in both calculations.
Ask what happens if your participant count changes. If one friend cancels, a private minimum charge might still apply; a shared booking may have different cancellation conditions. The actual agreement determines this, so obtain it in writing.
Some groups want to participate together; others prioritise joining an available departure. Families may need to clarify who can participate and what non-participants do. Friends travelling separately may need a reporting location everyone can reach.
Explain these preferences to the booking team without assuming they are guaranteed. Ask whether your group will be allocated together, what capacity limits apply and what alternatives exist if the requested arrangement is unavailable.
For either option, identify the operating company, route, reporting time and transport. Compare briefing, equipment provision and cancellation terms. These details matter regardless of who shares the departure.
Use the price comparison guide to review the quote and the family planning guide if your group includes different ages or non-participants.
Send your date and group size through the rafting enquiry page. If both arrangements are available, request the total cost and conditions for each. Choose the one that fits the confirmed itinerary and your group’s needs.
Ask about shared departures, minimum numbers and confirmation conditions. An enquiry is not a guaranteed seat.
Departure timing depends on the operator and conditions. Confirm available times rather than assuming unlimited flexibility.
