Chardham Yatra Cost Breakdown

Published 30 March 2026 · Anubhav Travel

People searching for "Chardham cost" usually want one number. We're not going to invent one — it genuinely depends on which of the two ways you do this trip. Here's what actually costs money, category by category, so you can build your own number honestly.

Registration — free

Uttarakhand's mandatory Chardham registration costs nothing. See ourregistration guide for the process. Anyone charging a "registration fee" is charging for doing the paperwork for you, not for the registration itself.

Bike rental, if you're riding it yourself

Twelve days on a Himalayan 411 at our published 7+ day rate of ₹1,200/day works out to roughly ₹14,400, plus a fully refundable ₹5,000 deposit. The 450 runs ₹1,800/day at the same tier, or about ₹21,600 for the full trip. See thefull rate card for every vehicle and every tier.

Fuel

The full circuit is roughly 1,600 km round trip. At the Himalayan's published mileage of around 30 kmpl, that's somewhere around 50–55 litres for the whole ride — fuel price moves often enough that we won't quote a rupee figure here, but you can work it out from the current price at the pump.

Accommodation and food

This is the biggest variable, and honestly, the one nobody can give you a single figure for — it depends entirely on whether you're in a basic guesthouse or a mid-range hotel, and whether you're eating at dhabas or hotel restaurants. Expect accommodation to be noticeably higher at Kedarnath and Badrinath themselves, where everything is packed in by mule or porter.

Permits and entry

None beyond the free registration for Chardham itself. (Adi Kailash is different — see ourInner Line Permit guide if that's the route you're planning instead.)

Optional: pony, palki or helicopter

If you're not walking the Yamunotri or Kedarnath treks yourself, add a pony, palki or helicopter booking — helicopters in particular need to be booked well ahead in peak season and sell out fast.

Why we quote the guided tour instead of publishing one number

Our Chardham tour bundles the bike, all accommodation, all meals, registration, a backup vehicle with driver, a mechanic and a tour leader into one price — but that price depends on group size and season, which is exactly why it's enquiry-only rather than a flat number that would be wrong for half the people who read it. Message us your dates and how many riders, and we'll give you an honest quote rather than a number pulled to look good on a website.
