The most capable motorcycle we rent. If you're riding to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Chopta or Auli, this is the one. The liquid-cooled Sherpa 450 engine has real power at altitude — where air-cooled motors go breathless above 3,000 m, this one doesn't notice. Long-travel suspension absorbs the broken sections above Guptkashi that will beat you up on a Classic, and the upright position is what lets you stay on it for six hours without your back complaining.
It's also the bike our tours run on. We know it, we carry spares for it, and our mechanic has had several apart.
Take it if: you're going into the mountains, riding multi-day, or carrying a pillion and luggage on hill road.
Don't take it if: you're staying in Rishikesh. It's overkill and you'll spend more on fuel than a scooty costs to rent.

On seat height: at 825 mm this is a tall bike. Under about 5'7" and you'll be on your toes at a stop. The seat adjusts down and we'll set it for you — but if you're short and unsure, come and sit on it before you commit. The Guerrilla 450 has the same engine at 780 mm, and the Hunter 350 is lower still.

FAQs
Is it good for beginners?
Forgiving to ride, but tall and heavy. If you've ridden a 350cc-plus bike before, fine. If not, start on the Hunter.
450 or 411 for Kedarnath?
Both work. The 450 has more power at altitude and better suspension; the 411 is lighter, simpler and ₹600 a day cheaper. Most riders are perfectly happy on the 411.
Guerrilla 450 or Himalayan 450?
Same engine. Himalayan for mountains and rough road; Guerrilla for tarmac and if the Himalayan's height puts you off.
Pillion and luggage?
Yes — that's what it's built for. Luggage carrier included.
